Epigraphic Artist

Since 2016, Dominique has worked as an artist in Luxor, Egypt, for the Epigraphic Survey of the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures (ISAC), The University of Chicago. Founded in 1924, “Chicago House” sets the highest standards for epigraphic art, documenting the hieroglyphs and wall reliefs of ancient Egyptian temples and tombs for publication and posterity.

  • documenting hidden surfaces of reused blocks by foiling between gaps in the blocks (technique developed by Dr. W. Raymond Johnson) creating 1:1 scale drawings on acetate for final digital epigraphic drawings
