Paintings, Sculptures, & Sketches

Born into a family of artists, Dominique Navarro has been drawing and painting since she was a child. In 2018, the Woolsey Wildfire in California destroyed her home and studio, including her entire history of art from childhood, college, and professional years, including the photos and hard-drives documenting all her work. Her multitude of sketchbooks full of textured paintings, sketches, inspirations, poems, and photographs—which helped get her accepted into the art department at UCLA — are simply gone. Sculptures that explored organic and bodily imagery, made in wax, latex, and other mixed mediums exist only in memory now.

Today, Dominique is rebuilding not only her studio and her tools, but a whole new portfolio of art. This art will remain more personal and self-exploratory, embarking on a new era…
